Christopher Rivas has swallowed glass and lived to tell about it. He's an award-winning international storyteller, passionate artivist, published writer, film/television (Greys Anatomy, Shameless, Rizzoli & Isles, 2 Broke Girls, Rosewood) and theatre actor. His artistic mission is to create and share stories that propel society forward and move humanity beyond where we thought we could be moved; by challenging assumptions, sparking dialogue, and demanding conversation. Stories that say, we are not just another cog in the wheel, stories built on honesty and depth.
As a storyteller, Chris has developed and facilitated storytelling workshops for The US Embassy, Hollywood Heart Foundation, LAUSD, LAMP on Skid Row, Safe Place For Youth, The Museum Of Broken Relationships, The Skirball Cultural Center, Unplug Meditation Studio, UCLA, CalArts, and Agape International Spiritual Center. He is the proud founder of Lifestyledezine, a community dedicated to exploring and realizing the power of compassionate storytelling.
Speaking engagements include: guest lecturer at NYU, UCLA and CalArts, Entrepreneurs Organization, Peace and Love Film Festival (Örebro, Sweden), DAH Teatro (Serbia, Belgrade), Unplug Meditation Studio, Los Angeles GreenFest.
Chris received his BFA from CalArts and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Expressive Arts for Global Health & Peace Building from The European Graduate School.
I'm grateful and blessed for every day being able to do what I love; sharing my He(Art).
