On our earth, before writing was invented, before the screen was invented, story flourished. That is why we know that story is like water. It should be shared by all, heard by all, drank by all; by all our vast, incredible, extraordinary family of humanity.
Christopher Rivas has swallowed glass and lived to tell about it. He's an international performer and championship storyteller who has developed a signature style of powerful-joyous-sexy storytelling, and he's the founder of LifestyleDeZine.
I've fallen in love and dedicated my life to the power of personal stories and personal truths. The truth that we are greater, we take up space, we matter. Through our personal stories we begin to take ownership of each and every moment, destroying the myth that we are just another cog in the wheel. In my workshops, participants are asked to consider what it would mean to live in a society where this personal truth is seen and valued as the conduit for community healing and health.
Facilitating through stories is at the heart of my work as an artist-activist. My work has been featured in ORIGIN magazine, and I've had the opportunity to offer my Storytelling For Healing Work in many settings all over the world, from The Dominican Republic to Budapest, Belgrade and beyond. Conducting residencies and leading workshops for all ages, in all fields. I believe in the experience of every human being, and that every perspective and story matters.
Out of these workshops come an understanding of how essential story is for leadership, creativity, community and empowerment.
